~ behind the scenes ~
How it's made
Every piece starts the same way: a pile of materials, an idea, and a lot of patience. Here's what goes into making them.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. I lay the bands out in rainbow order first so I never lose my place, then each one loops over the last.

Two pegs, a tiny hook, and a lot of patience. Black band then blue band, over and under, until the little waves start to show. This one took three goes.

For this one I close my eyes and grab a handful from the band tub. No plan, no pattern, just whatever colours tumble out together.

I wanted it to look like the sky just after sunset, so I start on pink, slip purple through the middle, and finish on sky blue. The fade is the tricky bit.

The white bands have the tiniest pink flecks in them, and they're my favourite. I dig through the whole tub to find enough for a single bracelet.

This one isn't finished, it's for you to make. I fill each bundle with loose bands, a few little charms, and a starter or two so you can loom your own at home.

Plan
A scribble of which colours go where, just enough to remember the idea
Gather
Dig through the band tub and pick out every colour I'll need (and a few spares)
Loom
The slow part: looping each band over the pegs, one at a time, until the pattern shows
Name
Every bracelet gets a name. This is harder than it sounds
